Daily Wai-O-Tapu & Waimangu Volcanic Valley Tour
This half-day tour departs Rotorua Central daily between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM and returns you to Rotorua Central by approximately 1:00 PM.
We’ll pick you up from your Rotorua Central accommodation and drive through picturesque forestry and farmland to the stunning geothermal heartland of the North Island.
Firstly, your guide will lead you through Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, where you’ll witness New Zealand’s largest boiling mud pool, a series of vibrant hot springs, and dramatic volcanic features. Don’t miss the spectacular Lady Knox Geyser eruption at 10:15 AM!
Next, we take a short drive to the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. Your guide will explain how the Mt. Tarawera eruption shaped this spectacular, regenerated bush-covered ecosystem and geothermal park. This award-winning ecotourism adventure is an experience you won’t want to miss!
Please be advised that we do not provide pick-up services outside of the Rotorua central area for our shared tours. This policy applies to major ports such as Tauranga and Auckland, as well as lodges located beyond the Rotorua township.

Yes, entirely. The price you see is all-inclusive of the gate entry fees for both Wai-O-Tapu and Waimangu Volcanic Valley. There are absolutely no hidden costs or surprise extra charges on the day of your excursion

Unfortunately, no. The geothermal waters within the parks are far too hot and highly acidic for human bathing.
However, if you are looking to soak during your stay, let your expert local guide know! They can share recommendations for Rotorua’s premier thermal hot pools and spa resorts, and may even be able to secure a local discount for you.

Unfortunately, no. Our vehicles are not currently equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps. Additionally, due to the natural volcanic terrain, the geothermal parks feature gravel paths that are steep, uneven, and stepped in several areas, making them unsuitable for wheelchairs.
