Eco Thermal Park Morning Tour

The tour departs daily from Rotorua between 8:00-8:30 am. You will be picked up from your accommodation and driven through forestry and farmland to New Zealand’s largest boiling mud pool within the Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) scenic reserve. Your guide will then show you around a series of colourful hot springs, craters and spectacular volcanic features. A quick stop at the visitor centre, grab a coffee and you will then be taken to see the unique and very popular Lady Knox geyser eruption at 10:15 am.

Next a short drive to the Waimangu (Black Water) Volcanic Valley where your guide will walk you down into the rift valley to see the world’s largest hot water spring and crypto geyser formation while explaining the effects of the 1886 Mt. Tarawera eruption and the regeneration of a spectacular untouched ecosystem.

Elite Cultural Afternoon Tour

Spend the afternoon experiencing Rotorua’s Māori culture and local geothermal activity and see how they are intricately entwined. Pick up from Rotorua accommodation, lunch or local sites and then taken to the Te Puia Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, Rotorua’s premier cultural attraction. You will join a group there and be guided by Te Puia tangata whenua (people of the land) who will show you through the wood carving school, art and craft gallery, Rotowhio Marae, weaving display, nocturnal kiwi house and finally the Pohutu and other geysers. Your Elite Adventures guide will then pick you up and time available, show you around a few more local sites of Rotorua and drop you either back at your accommodation or locally to your next adventure.
