Pick-ups from Rotorua Central accommodation begin from 1:00 PM, making this a great option for travellers arriving later in the day or anyone looking for an easy afternoon adventure. 🚐🌲

💧♨️ Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

First up is Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland — one of New Zealand’s most colourful and unique geothermal landscapes.

Your guide will take you to some of the park’s must-see highlights, including:

Please note: The afternoon tour does not include the Lady Knox Geyser presentation, which takes place at 10:15 AM and is included on our morning tour.

Next, we head to the spectacular Waimangu Volcanic Valley — the world’s youngest geothermal system, created following the 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera. 🌋

As this is a shorter half-day guided tour, we don’t walk every track or visit every feature within Wai-O-Tapu or Waimangu Volcanic Valley.

Instead, we focus on the must-see spots, giving you more time to enjoy the highlights while your guide shares the stories, science and local knowledge that bring each destination to life. 🌋💬
